
Tanya Pampalone is currently the Managing Editor of the Global Investigative Journalism Network, and executive producer of the recently released One Night in Snake Park, a six-episode podcast that she produced in collaboration with Sound Africa. Tanya contributed the opening essay to Unbias the News: Why diversity matters in journalism (Hostwriter, 2019) and co-edited I Want To Go Home Forever: Stories of becoming and belonging in South Africa's great metropolis (Wits Press, 2018). The former executive editor of the Mail & Guardian newspaper and former managing editor of Maverick (now Daily Maverick), Tanya is a founding partner of the Johannesburg-based Media Hack Collective. Tanya and her family currently live in Berkeley, California.
